HEALTH ADVICE ON COVID 19

Following the diagnosis of nine people in the region of Murcia with the virus, COVID 19, the health authorities have issued the following advice.
The symptoms of the COVID 19 virus are fever, coughing and shortness of breath.
Some 80% of cases are not serious but in the most serious cases this infection can cause pneumonia, serious breathing difficulties, kidney failure and even death.
The most serious cases are generally amongst the elderly or those with medical condition which affect the heart, lungs or immune system.
Contagion is person to person, by direct contact with excretions from the nose, mouth or eyes. Generally it is transmitted through direct contact with the respiratory secretions released by coughs and sneezes.
Protect yourself by staying one to two metres away from everyone, but especially those showing symptoms of colds or flu.
Wash your hands regularly.
If you are cough and/or sneeze avoid contact with your mouth, nose and eyes and cover your nose and mouth with the inside of your elbow or a disposable tissue. Dispose of the tissue immediately and wash your hands.
If you have symptoms, as explained above, isolate yourself at home and contact the emergency service numbers given below. Do not go to your local health centre or emergency department.
Staff at the emergency number will advise you and organize testing at home if necessary or hospital admission where required.
