Local police were able to rescue an injured walker on
the Sierra del Molino last night thanks to an app on a mobile phone.
At 7pm last night a call was received from the coordinated emergency group of
the Civil Protection reporting that a walker had fallen on the Sierra del
Molino and injured his leg and that he was unable to move.
After speaking to the walker on mobile the police assessed the situation as
grave and located the zone where of the injured man through a mobile phone app.
After intensive searching in an area of difficult access the injured man was
found two kilometers from the road.
Police and members of the Civil Protection stretchered the walker to a waiting
ambulance.
The 57 year old man from Cartagena is reported to be out of danger but has
suffered injuries to his leg.
