The poetry of Calasparrian poet, Pedro Antonio Martinez Robles, will have a special place in this the fourth local celebration of International Poetry Day.
Poems from international poets will also be read to mark the international flavor of the day with works from Vaul Claudel, Michel Houellebecq, Adrienne Monnier and Catherine Pozzi; the Germans, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Eva Seck, Karoline von Günderrode and Bertolt Brecht. Also, poet in the two languages, Rainer Maria Rilke.
“Calasparra Poetica,” featuring readings from our local poet will be in the Casa de la Cultura at 8.30pm on Wednesday March 20.
Works from the international poets will be published on illustrated sheets, translated into Spanish where appropriate.
The International Day of Poetry is celebrated on March 21.
