You are invited to take part in the LIFE/RIPISILVANANATURA project to install box refuges for bats as a form of pest control, which is holding two activities this weekend.
On Saturday there is an opportunity to help make the box refuges, which are then mounted high in trees to encourages bats to nest.
The workshop is in the Youth Centre from 10am to 1pm.
On Sunday volunteers will help to revise and monitor existing box refuges, mounted in previous years. Meet at the Curva Restaurant at 10am. The activity continues until 2pm.
Bats can eat up to 1,200 mosquitos an hour and between 6,000 and 8,000 flying insects per night.
