A special commemorative ceremony was held in Calasparra on Saturday to mark the tenth anniversary of the town’s twinning with Riorges in France.
A delegation from Riorges, and a delegation from Donzdorf, Germany which is twinned with Riorges, attended the ceremony which was the first date on the calendar of this year’s twinning events in Calasparra.
Before the ceremony the delegations visited the new Calle Riorges, inaugurated by the Government Delegate earlier this month, which runs alongside the new municipal sports ground. The Mayor of Riorges unveiled a commemorative plaque.
The twinning visit ends on May 2.
