An end to situations of inequality and exclusion for the gypsy community was the demand made at an event organised to commemorate the International Day of the Roma/Gypsy in the local Casa de la Cultura last week.
The event was organised by the Secretary of the Gypsy Foundation with the collaboration of Calasparra Town Hall.
The Coordinator of the Better Employment for FSG, Inmaculada Gálvez Cuenca, the Head of the local Department of Culture, Teresa García, Juan Moreno Santiago and Esmeralda Heredia were invited to represent the local community.
After the manifesto, hymn and raising of the flag, petals were thrown from the window of the Casa de la Cultura as a symbolic gesture.
