A 10 million euro Solar Energy Plant is currently under construction in Calasparra on 4.21 hectares of land adjacent to the road to Calasparra Station and behind the rice fields.
This installation is being constructed by Libienergy Horizontes S.L. of Alicante at an estimated cost of 9.727,169,14 euros plus 960,205.45 euros.
The plant will be a low tension solar panel plant of 29,848 MWp and includes installation of solar panels, an underground electric cable and a sub station. Access to the plant will be from the road to Calasoarra Station.
The plots of land (parcelas) numbers 58, 79, 80 and 103 on the Catastral Map will be the site of the installation. The whole area has been fenced off.
Editors Note
If you are curious you can walk along the tarmac path behind the Municipal Canoe Club and keep walking straight up the slight slope and over the irrigation canal. Walk straight on at the crossroads that leads to a house on the left and an access to the main road on the right and up the hill. The plant under construction is fenced off on both sides of the path and cuts off the previous access to the rice fields from the left, stretching up to the beginning of the «monte».
