WORST DROUGHT IN MURCIA SINCE 1961

The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plains and not in Calasparra and the Met Office predictions are that the drought will continue in the Murcia region until early next year.
This November has been an «extremely dry» month, the Met Office reports at the beginning of the new hydraulic year.
During the period October to November, the traditional rainy season in the Murcia region, there has been just 6.5mm of rain per aquare metre: the driest period since 1961.
During the last hydraulic year there was 90% less rain and for now there are no signs conditions will improve before January, although rain is predicted this week for other regions of Spain.
