The Town Hall has acceeded to the demands of the residents in Calle Lavador whose properties were flooded in the recent torrential rains and has begun work to protect the area.
This week the road has been closed as work to substitute larger pipes in the drains began . Properties are also being inspected and owners have been advised to install a retention valve as a preventative measure.
The Head of Services, José Vélez, says he hopes the measures will resolve the problem and evitate that basements and houses in the road are inundated in the event of heavy rainfall.
