Unfortunately, most of us were probably inside with the AC on as outside still felt like an oven, but some keen eyed photographer at the Calasparra AlDia website saw about 200 storks flying over Calasparra late yesterday evening and took this photo.
What a wonderful sight!!

Not all good news though, as this band of migrating white storks stopped in Calasparra to rest for the night and some of them landed on live electricity cables and were electrocuted. A pair of the dead birds were found in the area of La Daya.
ANSE the environmental pressure group, has been demanding all electricity cables, and not just those in bird protections areas, should be isolated to avoid these sad incidents
