Residents in the Murcia region have to wait an average of 92 days for an operation under the public health system, four days more than last year.
However, the waiting time to see a consultant, currently an average of 86 days, has fallen by nine days compared to last year.
In our region a total of 34,247 patients are waiting for operations and, although the majority wait for 92 days, some 12.2% wait an average of six months for their operation.
The information on waiting lists, provided by the different regional governments, shows a slight drop in the number of patients nationally waiting for surgery compared to 2023. However, on June 20, 2024 a total of 848,340 patients were on the waiting lists for non urgent operations in Spain, an increase of 3.4% percent compared to the same period last year.
