VOLUNTEERS TO REPLANT TREES ON SAN MIGUEL

Many of you will remember a hot night in July in 2013 when flames spread across the flanks of the emblematic San Miguel.
Some of us were attending a classical concert by the regional Youth Orchestra at the open air theatre from which we had a perfect view of the devastation as it happened. The concert was cancelled by the then Mayor of Calasparra, Jose Velez, because fire fighters were risking their lives to save the monte.
The damage to the Sierra remains clear to the naked eye still but now there is a chance to help repair the damage.
A day for volunteers to reforest San Miguel has been set for Sunday November 28.
Volunteers should meet at the Athletics Ground at 8am.
Volunteers will be invited to make donations as they receive the trees they will plant and these donation will go towards Dogs Rescue, Calasparra.
