UPDATE ON THE CERECO DOG POUND BY A NEXONR READER

The day after I visited Cereco in Crevellente, There was a dog abandoned on the Tierra Del Sol Urbanisation, as a lot of people are aware.
It had two broken legs, a damaged back and was about seven or eight years old. So very sad.
When Cereco came to pick it up they said the vet would look at and it would more than likely be put down. This is what we thought would happen, and to be honest it would have been a kind release for this poor dog.
I managed to get in contact with the shelter that is affiliated to Cereco, and the owner told me that this is what happened.
When I emailed her I asked her in more detail about what happened to the dogs when they are first brought in to Cereco, if they are not injured.
She said they are put in one large kennel, where the dogs do fight. They are not given beds etc., like they would in our own homes, as it is not a shelter. Although the people do not mistreat the dogs in any way.
I will say when we went to visit the pound they did not show us where the dogs were kept in one kennel. Now I know why.
Therefore I thought I would make people aware of this. Obviously, I think we must try and get the dog charities if at all possible to take them first.
Thank you Nexo for printing this update about Cereco dog pound.
