Sadly we must report two more confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Calasparra bringing the total to 24 as of April 14.
Calasparra is one of the top ten areas in the Murcia region with the most cases of the virus compared to the population (10178).
Above us in the table of contagions compared to populations are Murcia capital with 622 confirmed cases and a population of 453,258: Cartagena with 190 confirmed cases and a population of 214,802; Molino de Segura with 70 cases and a population of 71,890; and Cieza with 49 cases in a population of 34,968.
Nearby Caravaca with a population of 25,760 has reported a static 24 cases, eight more than Calasparra, for the past two weeks.
The safest way to avoid the virus is to stay at home and only go out in absolute emergencies.
If you find your local supermarket/shop/ chemist or any other business permitted to operate under the State of Emergency is not limiting the number of customers  entering their premises at one time: not respecting social distancing or are endangering customers in any other manner not permitted under the regulations please inform the local police, Guardia Civil or Civil Protection or any other person in authority.
If you find your local shop/ supermarket etc is not providing a safe environment you are advised to find an alternative until they do.
Please stay at home, stay safe and keep us all safe.
