TWO GANGS OF BURGLARS ARRESTED LAST WEEK

The Guardia Civil arrested a gang of three burglars after they were caught in the act by the owner of a house in the country in Cehegin.
On discovering the burglars in his house the owner detained one of the intruders and turned him over to the local police in Cehegin.
The Guardia Civil attended the scene of the crime where they arrested another man. A third man was detained following investigations. All three men will appear in court in Caravaca charged with two offences of burglary with force: firstly at the property identified and secondly at a warehouse nearby.
The suspects have been described as two Spanish men of 20 years old and a Portuguese of 22 years old. One of the arrested men has previous convictions for burglary.
A previous arrest was made by the local police of Calasparra, Cehegin and the Guardia Civil last week when three men aged between 20 and 26 years old, all with previous convictions, were detained after robbing a sports shop in Cehegin using force.
The owner of the shop called the local police in Cehegin in the early evening to report that three young men had forced their way into her shop and stolen various sports items and equipment. She reported that the thieves had taken a white vehicle and escaped in the direction of Canara .

The Cehegin police alerted the local police in Calasparra and the Guardia Civil who gave chase and eventually arrested the three men in Valentin after intercepting their vehicle where they found property stolen from the shop.

To date it is not known whether suspects detained in the two incidents are connected.
