The effects of an earthquake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale, with its epicentre in Aledo, yesterday afternoon were felt in Cehegin and Bullas.
The tremors, some four months after the devastating earthquake in Lorca, were also felt in the village of La Paca.
According to the National Geographic Association the earthquake had its epicentre some 10 kilometres below ground in Aledo, a villager outside Lorca.
No injuries or damage to property has been reported but the quake caused widespread alarm amongst local residents.
