The traditional Murcian stew (guiso) which has disappeared from many family menus and dinner tables is the subject of a cookery workshop at the Popular University Adult Education Centre in Calle Mayor which starts this week.
The 24 hour workshop entitled “The World of Stews” begins on April 18 and continues until May 17 and will be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9.30am to12 midday.
Recipes will include desserts and rice dishes and many traditional stews which form part of the regional gastronomic patrimony.
During each session one recipe will be demonstrated followed by a talk about the dish and its origin and evolution plus some cookery tips.
The workshop costs 20€. Inscription forms are available at the Town Hall.
