The controversy continues over the decision by the regional government of Murcia to make 600 Calasparra residents of 60 and over years old to travel to Cehegin for Covid-9 vaccinations.
The Mayoress, Teresa Garcia, held a press conference yesterday to announce she had officially asked the regional Government to use one of the three public buildings in Calasparra, which has already been inspected and approved for mass vaccinations.
According to the Mayoress, more than 600 people, born between 1956 and 1960, on the censure in Calasparra, had received message from the Regional Health Authority informing them of appointments to be vaccinated at the Sala Camelot in Cehegin.
Calasparra Town Hall has put three municipal buildings at the disposition of the Department of Health (CARM): the Municipal Sports Pavilion; the Youth Centre: and the former Nursery premises. Last week technical staff from the Department of Health visited the former nursery premises with a view to using it for mass vaccinations,
She thanked the local Medical Centre for the “extra effort put in the last days and said. “We feel CARM should modify the criteria for vaccination.”
The Mayoress has asked that the next mass vaccination be carried out in Calasparra in a “safe, fast and efficient way.”
