Today, October 11, is International Children´s Day when “we recognise the rights of children and the exceptional problems they confront all over the world” according to United Nations.
This year the theme is “Equality for Children” and the manifestó underlines “the disadvantages and discrimination experienced every day by young people.”
The General Secretary of the UN, Ban KLi-Moon, sends out this message on Interantional Children´s Day: “With overwhelming frequency, in villages, marginalized areas and the refugee camps all over the world, children are left behind: they don´t receive the nutrition they need nor the medical attention nor quality education and they are exposed to sexual violence.”
The UN has a special children´s programme and, on this day, they place themselves at the side of the world community to put an end to child marriage and support children all over the world. “Let´s let children be children.”
