The air controllers employed by Enaire, the company which controls the air space in Spain, have announced four days of industrial action starting today June 8, which are likely to affect 5,300 flights.
The stoppages will take place during two hour periods: between 10am and 12 midday and 6pm and 8pm on June 8, 10, 12 and I4. The Ministry of Promotion has set a mínimum service of 70% during these periods.
The protest has been called by the Air Controllers’ Unions (USCA) as Enaire decide to sanction, with suspensión of employment and a cut of a month´s wages, 61 professionals at the control centre in Barcelona for their part in closing the air space during December 2010.
Flights from the region may affected and passengers on these days may experience delays and disruption.
