Ricardo García, spokesperson for the municipal opposition group the United Left and Greens, has underlined the three projects secured by the party in exchange for supporting the ruling PSOE´s municipal budget.
At a press conference yesterday he also appealed to residents to support the March Against Unemployment and Cuts which will arrive at the Casa de la Cultura at 8.30pm on Thursday.
The three projects are a bank of public and private agricultural land which is currently unexploited; action on urban projects which have expired and paralysed; and a plan to encourage citizen participation in local government.
The land bank would give disadvantaged families the opportunity to be self sufficient and for young people to learn about farming.
The proposal on urban projects concerns land sold during the “golden era” of municipal policy and where action is fundamental to avoid further land speculation. The current owners of the land are banks which are responsible for repossessing the homes from families in danger of social exclusion, said Ricardo.
The last of the proposals is a plan for citizen participation and transparent information in an open form with opposition groups and local organisations.
