The 47,734 euro project to restore the Sanctuary terraces was officially finished at the weekend.
The Mayoress of Calasparra, Teresa Garcia, members of her government team and municipal workers joined members of the Sanctuary Foundation and the Head of the regional Department of Agriculture, Water and Stockbreeding, Antonio Luengo, to mark the occasion.
The project includes laying stones on 1,124 metres of the lower terrace, removing the barbecues, installing water supply controllers and benches.
Work continues to restore the terraces which run along the river Segura and improve accessibility.
The project has been 80% financed by the EU Feder fund and 20& by CARM.
