The bright yellow mobile recycling unit, currently doing a tour of the local education centres as part of a campaign on responsible citizenship, will start a regular weekly route around Calasparra in April.
Residents are being encouraged to use the new facility and “avoid the uncontrolled tipping of rubbish locally, reduce the volume of rubbish on public tips and save primary materials and energy which can be reused or recycled”.
The new mobile unit is a light container lorry, adapted for rubbish items that fall outside the current categories available, which will transport the residues to the local “ecoparque” (Public Recycling Facility near the Chapel of Rest). These parks are designed to store old electrical domestic appliances, small items of furniture wood, metal, paint residues, batteries, branches (from pruning), fluorescent lights and tubing etc.
The Town Hall also runs a free collection service for bulk rubbish items.
We will print the places and collection dates for the Mobile Eco Park as soon as they are available.
