Today is the longest day of the year and tonight the shortest night. Temperatures are expected to hover around the mid 30’s in the first day of what is predicted to be a “long, hot summer.”
The first event in the Valentin Fiestas takes place tonight with the traditional opening speech and on Saturday at midday the Mayor of Calasparra, Jesus Navarro, will officially open the new social community space in the Valentin Chapel building.
If you fancy cooling off at the beach the OAPs Club in Calasparra is organizing day trips to the beach at 9 euros a head every Wednesday during July and August. The first trip is next Wednesday June 29. The coach leaves at 8am and returns at 7pm.
You don´t have to be a member of the Club to go on the trips. If you are interested you can sign up at the OAPs Club, Calasparra.
