Recycling was the main theme of the International Day of the Consumer here in Calasparra last Friday when Radio Calasparra ran special programme for local school children.
Both pupìls and teachers from the high school, IES Emilio Pérez Piñero, and the Esperanza Primary School, took part in a programme organised by the Head of the Department of the Consumer at the Town Hall. Pupils from the primary school brought items they had made from recycled materials including toys and the senior pupils from IES explained consumer rights.
The Pederas Primaru School held a pop art exhibition using recycled materials.
The Head of the Consumer Office, Esperanza Marín, announced that the office had received nearly a thousand complaints last year of which 150 had become complaints. Mobile telones topped the list of complaints with electricity, gas, banking and the sale of “preferentes” featuring high on the list.
