The imagination and creativity of the Calasparrians at Carnival time knows no bounds and neither the cold nor the crisis put a dampener on the fiesta on Saturday night.
The judges had to choose from 31 groups and three individual entries: astronauts, pixies on mushrooms, ballerinas, cakes, calamares with ink, boxers, chewing gum and little worms who crowded into the Plaza de la Corredera at 11pm for the parade to the Recinta Ferial and the final judging.
The final decision was:
1st prize: The Barbies and the Kens
2nd prize: The Flintstones
3rd prize: The Mops
3rd prize: The Garden of Delights
