The Civil Protection of Calasparra assisted fire fighters and environmental officers to extinguish a fire in a van on the road to the Cenajo near the Casa de Chopillo in Moratalla and prevented a forest fire.
The emergency services were called at 10.50pm by the van driver who reported there was a great danger of the fire spreading as the vehicle was near pine trees alongside the road.
Due to the rapid response of all the services the fire was under control by 11.34pm and was extinguished by 11.40pm thus avoiding a major incident.
