Over 100 athletes from all over the Murcia region took part in the IX Duatlón Road and Cycle Trials organised by the Town Hall at the weekend.
Some 122 runners and cyclists took part in this local event when the strong winds were an unexpected factor and led to several falls in the cycling event.
The winners of the trials, which carry points for the regional championships, were : feminine, Ida Cortés Ibáñez of the Club Triatlón Tragamillas of Orihuela (Alicante), with a time of 1:22:42; second, Maria Leonor Fernández of the Club Triatlón Aguila, with 1:26:53; and third, Maria Carmen Villaescusa, of the Club Triatlón Tiramillas, Orihuela, with 1:31:28. Masculine: Guillaume Le Mouhaer, of the Club Triatlón Guerrita of Alcantarilla, with time of 1:03:02; David Sánchez of the Club Triatlón Guerrita with 1:03:45; and third, Antonio Alcaraz, with 1:04:02.
