Another heatwave this weekend as we are in the hottest summer for years in the Murcia region, expect temperatures approaching and even exceeding 40C.
The hottest hours of the day here in Calasparra are between 2pm and 6pm although, according to forecasters, the heat could continue until well into the night today, Friday, and the weekend.
Avoid working outside, if you can put it off it is probably best to do so. Monday should be cooler!!
Draw curtains and blinds during the day to keep the heat of the sun out and temperatures inside the house down. Use AC or fans to maintain low temperatures.
Avoid alcohol and caffeine drinks, which raise the body temperature, and eat light meals.
Try and stay out of the sun especially during the hottest hours.
If you go outside wear a hat, sunglasses, sun protection, and light, loose clothing.
Please check on elderly or sick neighbours as they are particularly vulnerable to the heat.
