SPANISH GOVERNMENT DEMAND MORE INSPECTIONS OF BUDGET AIRLINES

The Spanish Government has formally approached the Irish Government applying for an increase in the inspections of the budget airlines from “sporadic to systematic.”
Although the Government state they are “satisfied” with the routine inspections of airlines they have asked for an increase in inspections of all aircraft belonging to companies operating in the national territory and a ”better coordination” in the case of “serious infractions” where operating licences may have to  be withdrawn.
Meanwhile, another incident occurred on a Ryanair flight from Paris to Tenerife which was forced to land at Barajas “due to technical problems.” This was the second incident in 24 hours as another Ryanair flight from Bristol to Reus had to make an emergency landing at the El Prat airport in Barcelona on Saturday due to problems with an engine.
