SNOW AFFECTS ROADS AROUND CALASPARRA

Snow overnight is making travelling in and around Caravaca, Cehegin, Moratalla, Bullas and Yecla difficult while in Calasparra 10 litres of rain fell per square metre.
The Met Office has issued a snow warning for snow at 600 metres above sea levels so we may see snowfall on the Sierra del Molino (639 metres) but in Calasparra town (345 metres) it will probably just continue to rain.
However, the Ministry of Transport has issued warnings for residents of the region of Murcia to stay at home as snow has affected various roads in our area making driving hazardous.
It is recommended that drivers avoid the Autovía del Noroeste, betweenBullas and Cehegín (RM-15), Caravaca-Puebla de Don Fadrique (RM-730), Barranda-Archivel-Nerpio (RM-702) and Moratalla – Campo San Juan (RM-703). Chains are required for some stretches of the RM-730.
The sky will remain overcast this Thursday, according to the Met Office with snow and fog in the Sierras. Minimum temperatures will rise with light frosts in high places while maximum temperatures will fall.
