Wednesday 5th November as we all know is Guy Fawkes night but on this date 409 years later, 170 people set the dance floor alight in La Daya, Calasparra instead of eight men trying to blow up the House of Parliament !
Soon after another fantastic meal served by Manolo and his team, DJ Tony’s Retro Disco set the theme for the night – enjoyment.
Playing all the good dancing “oldies”, Tony soon had a full floor of Tony Manero’s and Irene Cara wannabees. I am sure a few calories were burned off and necessary after all the food available!
Showaddwaaddy Legends were the group for Rog and Rick’s Party this time round and certainly did not disappoint. Singing some great tracks from years gone by as well as the Showaddywaddy hits, they kept the dancers happy and the seated audience entertained.
Rog and Rick had always said any money made would go to a local charity and they are pleased to announce 250 euros will be presented to MABS. This is a combination of money remaining after ticket sales, entertainment and food payments. A fantastic effort by Kathy (assisted by Dinah) to promote “Euro’s for the Guy” – and the generosity of the party goers was amazing – a big thank you to you all, the donations exceeded expectations.
We believe most people enjoyed themselves although there were a few sore heads and aching limbs the following the next day. Judging by the comments via email, Facebook and verbally, it was a great night.
