Some 73,8% of the people, born between 1956 and 1960, from Calasparra, summoned to the mass vaccination session in Cehegin on Thursday, attended for their appointments.
In total the 1,371 people were vaccinated, from Calasparra and Bullas, representinbg 75% of the number given appointments. Some 74% of those summoned from Bullas attended.
A spokesperson for the Health Area IV told listeners to Radio Calasparra that the decision to base the mass vaccination session in Cehegin was based “solely on technical criteria”, given the problems with transport and conservation of the doses it had been necessary to concentrate the vaccinations in certain areas.
The Sala Camelot in Cehegin also counted on the infrastructure and resources for a rapid mass vaccination programme and was 10 minutes away from Caravaca Hospital, she added.
The vaccination of the over 70´s will take place at the Medical Centre in Calasparra.
