The last day of the September fiestas yeterday marked the end of a week of partying in Calasparra, until the same time next year.
As is traditional, last night the Association Band of Music gave a concert of pasadobles in the Plaza de la Corredera to close the celebrations.
The previous day thousands of people enjoyed a day and night of religious and non religious events at the Sanctuary in honour of the patrón of Calasparra, Our Lady of Hope, and in theevening enjoyed the dulcit tones of the 35 strong music group, the Parrandboleros.
The Taurean Committee has announced that there are no candidates for the celebrated Espiga de Oro award, neither in for the catyegroy of the best bull fighter or the best stockbreeder. This may have put a dampener on proceedings for a few but the rest of Calasparra seems to have had a ball!!!
