The new variants of Covid-19 are swelling the statistics for new cases, deaths and hospital admissions in the Murcia region as medical experts warn of a new wave and appeal to residents to protect vulnerable groups by wearing masks.
There have been seven Covid deaths in the last five days, over 2000 new cases in the over 60’s group and 343 hospital admissions, 21 of which are in intensive care.
There were 591 new cases diagnosed in the 24 hours ending at midnight on Monday compared to 577 five days earlier and 343 hospital admissions compared to 296 last Wednesday.
Sadly, five people died of the virus in 24 hours, and seven have died in the last five days.
There were three active cases of the virus registered in Calasparra in the over 60’s group in the last seven days.
