The final details of the reinforcments and coordination of citizen security at the September Fiestas were put in place at a special meeeting of Local Security Council this week, attended by the Government Delegate, Mariola Guevara, and the Mayoress of Calasparra, Teresa Garcia.
The Head of the local department of Citizen Security, Antonio Merino, and the Chief of the Local Police, Miguel Ángel Martínez, presented the details of the Security Plan for the Fiestas that includes the installation of medical stations; reinforcment of security personnel; regulation of traffic; alcohol and drugs controls; «puntos violetas» (to attend victims of sexual abuse or violence); and traffic controls.
César Reales, Head of the Protection Civil, reported that some 20 volunteers daily would be present, especially at the bull runs, with medical support and ambulances.
Calasparra will have varioua “Puntos Violetas”, including one in the fieta area ana another at the concerts, with professionals to attend to victims as well as mann Information Points, campaigns of prevention of sexual violence and accompaniment of potential vicitms.
The Wristband Service will be reinforced in order to find lost children and there will be awareness campaigns on the responsible consumption of alcohol and drugs.
