The Second organized walk in the local authority´s summer programme will take in the rice fields and end with a tour of local archeological treasures in the museum.
The walk, next Saturday June 27, will start at 8.30am from the Tourist Office taking in the local Saints Church and passing over the Old Bridge over the Segura river.
There will be an opportunity to see the local flora and fauna of the rice fields as walkers enjoy a pause on the Isla Tio Juna Vacas before returning to Calasparra by the Matadero road.
During the five kilometer walk participants can enjoy the explanatory information panels along the route.
The walk will end at the archeological museum to enjoy the history of Calasparra from the prehistoric age through to the Middle Ages and especially the discoveries made at the Villa Vieja Islamic dig. Entrance costs one euro.
As the route passes through wetlands walkers are advised to use insect repellent and wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
