Calasparra marked the
national day of Spain and the day of the patron saint of the Guardia Civil, the
Virgin of Pillar, on Saturday, in a special ceremony at the Merced Parish
Church.
The Guardia Civil celebrates its 175th birthday this year.
The Chief of the Guardia Civil in Calasparra, Javier Fernandez Lorenzo, joined
the Mayor of Calasparra, Jose Velez, and representatives of the local police,
justices of the peace and other official departments for this picture after the
ceremony.
