Plans have been published for six safe routes for cyclists in the region including in Calasparra, Moratalla, Alcantarilla, Barranda andAlhama de Murcia- Las Cábilas amongst others.
The Director General of Traffic has announced the speed limit on these roads will also be reduced to 20kph at weekends and drug and alcohol controls will be increased on Sunday mornings.
The work on the routes has been put out to tender but the routes are not expected to be finished by this summer.
