Ryanair has transferred thousands of passengers from Alicante airport to San Javier following a dispute with the airport authorities in Alicante over passengers disembarking on foot from its aircraft.
The regional Head of Culture and Tourism, Pedro Alberto Cruz, has been quick to take advantage of the situation announcing the region would “receive Ryanair in an enthusiastic manner” particularly due to the imminent increase in capacity at the new Corvera airport.
He said the new airport had an “incredible capacity,” was well situated geographically and was prepared to adjust to the needs of the airlines.
