The hasty closure of the gates at the Bull Ring yesterday, to avoid a repeat of last year when the bulls turned around and ran back down towards the town, could have ended in tragedy as runners were jammed into the entrance.
The “mansos” (cows) which followed the runners crashed into the gates breaking one down in order to enter the ring. Thankfully no-one was hurt in this second bull run of the fiesta although the bulls slid and fell on one of the corners.
The bulls completed the 923 metre course in two minutes and 28 seconds.
