Good news for holiday makers as the cost of using the Internet on your mobile phone in other European countries drops by 36% from today.
The long awaited cvhange reduces the máximum tarriff per megawatt to 45 cents before IVA for roaming on t6he Internet.
Phone calls on your mobile using rioaming in other European countries has also fallen by 17% to make calls and 12.5% to receive calls. The máximum tariff for making calls is now 24 cents a minute and to receive them 7 cents a minute.
Sending a text mnessage costs 11% less at 8 cents.
Telephone companies may charge less but not more. Some companies have already begun eliminating additional costs for voice mail or text messaging or by offering certain areas of Europa as “free zones.
This reduction means that downloading data, for example maps, watching videos, Reading emails or using the social networking sites will be up to 9!% cheaper than they were in 2007. Ands calls and text messaging costs 80% less. During this period the market for “roaming” has grown by 630%.
