The price of practising sport in Calasparra has risen with immediate effect after the ruling PSOE presented the motion for the second time at a full local council meeting and received the support of the second largest party, the PP.
A previous motion was defeated when both opposition parties opposed the price rise. However, a discount of 5% for advance payments was enough to persuade the PP to vote with the governing party.
The United Left voted against the motion, for the second time, because it discriminates against people who are unable to pay.
The new prices will be charge at the local sports centre and apply to all sporting activities in the municipal area from this month.
