Representatives of residents on the Tierra del Sol urbanisation have met with the local police chief to discuss the recent spate of burglaries and car thefts on the estate.
The Police Chief informed them that there were connections between the gang of Calasparrians recently arrested for burglaries in the area and the crimes on the urbanisation but that criminals from outside Calasparra were also active in the area.
They have also identified the “Smart car” seen near the sites of the burglaries by residents and will carry out investigations.
The Police Chief also appeals to residents to be vigilant to to report any suspicious activity to them. He said any actual burglary or attempt should be reported to the Guardia Civl through the emergency number 112.
Additionally he appeals to residents who have an alarm to use it and for residents who don´t have one to consider installing one.
