REGION INTRODUCES NEW COVID-19 MEASURES

The autonomous government of Murcia has introduced new measures, which come into effect at midnight on August 22, to try and curb the coronavirus epidemic.

Bars and restaurants will have permitted capacity reduced to 40% inside and 75% on terraces.
Service inside the premises must stop at 10pm and on the terraces at1am with the last customer admitted at midnight.
Religious and cultural events (such as weddings) will be reduced to 40% capacity with a maximum of50 inside premises and 40% outside with a maximum of 100 people.
One employee must be responsible to ensure all safety measures, including social distancing and masks, are respected and a register of guests and staff must be kept in order to trace contacts in the event of contagion.
Betting bars and premises must close at 10pm and must comply with cleaning and disinfecting protocols.
Shops, except those selling food and drink, must close at 10pm.
Board games are prohibited in bars and restaurants including terraces.
Noncompliance with these measures will result in offenders being fined. Vigilance and inspections by local police will be increased.

Transport
More than one person on a two seater motorcycle, scooter etc , gloves obligatory. Two may travel.
Private cars up to 9 seaters may have full occupancy if all travelling live in the same household.
If from a different household 50% occupancy; distance between passengers and masks obligatory.
Vehicles with one line of seats may have a maximum of two people with distance between them and masks.
Car and taxis with odd number of seats eg. 5 seats equals 3 people; 7 seats equals 4 people if not from the same address. Masks obligatory.

These measure come into effect from midnight on August 22.
