Calasparra is getting greener and more residents are recycling putting
the town above the regional average.
In Calasparra some 14 k of recycled material per person is disposed of in the
yellow container and 18k per person in the blue container.
In total Calasparrians recycled 140,000 kilos of plastic, tins and brick
packaging and 190,000 kilos of paper and carton.
«It is very important to recycle adequately
and Calasparra has increased the amount recycled since 2018,” says Juan Carlos
Arranz, delegate of Ecoembes in the Region.
“However, these results can be improved as a significant amount of primary
materials are extracted and reutilized from recycled waste and this is a significant
saving for the planet,” he added.
He recommends the mobile phone application, AIRE – Asistente Inteligente de Reciclaje de Ecoembes, to clarify any doubts about the efficient use of recycling
containers.
