The emergency services were called in last week to rescue a group of ramblers in the Almadenes Canyon.
The group called the emergency number, 112, just before 5pm to report that one of their members, a man of 48 years, was suffering from possible heat stroke.
The group were about two kilometres from the electricity sub station on the banks of the river.
A helicopter was despatched from Alcantarilla to carry out the rescue operation and transfer the victim to the Lorenzo Guirao hospital .
