QUESTION AND ANSWER SESSION SHOULD BE TELEVISED LIVE

The main opposition party, the Partido Popular, will present a motion at the next full Town Hall meeting calling for the rules to be modified in order that that the public question and answer session at the end of business can be televised live.
The move follows the controversy provoked when the ruling party, PSOE, ordered the television companies to switch off their cameras at the end of official business and not to televise the public question and answer session at the monthly January meeting which was crowded with angry residents who had received substantial fines for illegal buildings and renovations.
The meetings have been televised live since a motion by the opposition party PP to allow the live transmissions was passed unanimously last year. The party spokesperson, Jesús Alajarin says the motion “anticipated that the whole meeting would be televised including the public question and answer session.”
