Calasparra is
one of 1,700 European towns to benefit from the WIFI4EY Grant, to install WIFI
free of charge in public spaces.
The Head of Information and Communication Technologies at the Town Hall, Cllr
Antonio Merino, applied to be part of this European programme a few months ago
and Calasparra, Murcia and Ricote were selected to receive part of the 26.7
million Euro pot to install WIFI in public “hotspots.”
Demand outstripped supply but the grants were allocated on a first come first
served basis.
