The visit had two objectives: firstly to get to know and discover local problems and secondly propose solutions for each area according to need. These proposals will be transformed into a resolution for the Debate on the State of the Region on June 4 and 5.
The Mayor of Calasparra, Jesus Navarro, told the group that unemployment was the most serious problema for Calasparra. He also referred to the new motorway to the North; the practice of fracking; the situation at Conservas Fernandez, and highlighted that the residents of the North West – River Mula were discriminated against with respect to the rest of the region especially with reference to investment. He added that Calasparrea “felt abandoned” by the regional President Valcarcel.
